Dusk was quickly settling, and the sky was painted in beautiful hues of pink and purple, the clouds mimicking the colors with a tint of yellow as the sun steadily made it’s way behind the mountains. The group had been traveling for three days already, and so far it had been going without incident. Arabella guessed they’d make it in good time if they kept up the pace, although they would have to stop for the night. Her copper and white tokota Ambrette seemed to be lagging slightly, even though she was keeping up with Echo with Flynn and Ursula who seemed to think being at the head of the pack proved she was winning something. Goats in a BarrelTetsucabra trotted along happily with his tail held high and his head up. He was getting to play leader again. It didn’t matter to him that the only reason was that their handler, Talie, had chosen him to ride for this hunt. He was proud that she had picked him above the others. He had a suspicion that it was largely because of his color. The woman seemed to have a thing for blue.
It was around mid-day as they moved across the tundra toward the mountain range. The snow had melted here, giving way to green grasses. They saw a few caribou and deer here and there taking advantage of the sweet grass. They bounded away as soon as they saw the Tokotas. But Tetsucabra and his companions didn’t give chase. Today’s prey on the menu were mountain goats. The lilac boy found mountain goats a refreshing challenge. They were slippery, agile beasts. One had to be on one’s toes to have a successful mountain goat hunt.
