Stamp: White Tigers

I was shocked to learn that there isn't a stamp with Kenny on it, so I made one.

Meet Kenny, a white tiger that was rescued from a private breeder, and one of the few that was able to survive long enough after his birth to actually grow into an adult, despite his deformities. He died from melanoma in 2007.

White tigers are aberrations of nature, a color mutation that could occur in any of the 6 remaining tiger subspecies. Their white coats do not camouflage them at all, and the gene that gives them their color causes the optic nerves to be wired to the wrong side of the brain, leaving them cross-eyed.
They would never be able to survive in the wild, and therefore are not an endangered species (hell, they're not even a species).

The only way to get a white tiger is to breed two cats carrying the recessive gene. Among white tiger breeders, this is done by crossing mothers to sons, fathers to daughters, and brothers to sisters.
Decades of inbreeding have irreparably damaged the white tiger's gene pool; most are mentally retarded and only 1 out of 30 can actually preform consistently, according to tiger trainers.
