Gryphon take off animation

This was today's animation done at work. I had been doing a pagedoll of one of my tokotas, but then sai (which I was running off of my USB) crashed and I lost it. Damn. Oh well.

I decided to experiment with the poses a bird goes through as it takes off; there's a moment when the bird jumps off the ground and its wings are stretched out, and it doesn't actually flap until it's in the air, which I've always found fascinating.
But of course a bird was too tedious to draw from some angles so I decided on a gryphon instead because 6 limbs are "easier" than 4 limbs  said no one ever

My fav detail is the right hindleg (its right), the little weight shift. I have this bad habit of keeping the feet immobile through actions like this, and I'm always reminding myself to not do that.


Slowly getting used to using a tablet again. Soon I'll be able to use this time to catch up on owed work, but not while I suck at this tablet business be patient ARPG friends, tokos will be back!
