Dog Colors for Artists- part 2

Published:
30.1K Views

Description

Part 2.

Part 1- [link]

Quiz yourself!

Part 3- [link]

Part 2 covers dilutions, merle, brindle, and masks.

I know I sort of went off on a tangent on the double merle thing, but I personally think it's important to know that.

Will probably add a part 3 later, I'm still missing some important stuff. We'll see.
The Masks section is inexcusably lazy; must go back and fix that at some point.

Please do point out mistakes and typos ^^;

Stuff that's missing but still important: Urajiro, ticking & roaning, sable & agouti, somatic mutations

Many thanks to my twin sister, :iconcomixqueen:, for both helping me on this tut and getting me into dog genetics :)

Masks can sometimes cover the feet and legs with enough intensity, Belgian Malinois, for example.

I love this though, I've been trying to help my sister understand dog color genetics.
