The Raid

My (somewhat last minute) piece for the War event over at

Featuring 's Dom, 's Emese, and 's Reva (of course)

I am so sorry Quisum for hurting Dom!
Taffy has been scolded and grounded. Yes he has.

I'll try for a bit of story, but I'm not really feeling it atm. Let's see how this goes...

'Chaos', that's how I'd describe it. It seemed that everywhere you looked there was a blood-streaked Skrekrill, and you could only wonder who's blood they were wearing.
No one had spotted them coming, and now all that was left was for those who were not Balach to evacuate as quickly as possible.
Reva, Emese, and I had headed for the nearest emergency exit together; trying not to lose track of each other. I don’t think any of us realized that what we should have been doing was checking hallways for charging Skrekrills before we crossed them.
When he hit me, it felt like I’d suddenly had the air knocked out of me by a high-speed, Queen-sized bison (Reva later said it was a headbutt; didn’t feel like a headbutt). Once the world came back into focus, I noticed two very angry yellow eyes and an enormous hooked beak occupying the majority of my field of vision. I realized, in a strange disconnected fashion, that he’d pinned me to the ground and was probably going to kill me. He was so much bigger! Struggling would most likely have been pointless, so I don’t think I tried too hard.
But the feel of the tips of his very sharp talons pressing against my throat was like an all-powerful jolt, and the next thing I knew I’d thrust my hands into his face. He screeched and reared back, clutching at his eyes, and I could breathe again.
That moment was… almost otherworldly. I couldn’t believe I had actually done that, but the blood on his face and on my talons was proof enough right then.
I realized I could hear Reva and Emese calling me, and quicker than you could say ‘alula’ I was out of that cave and in the air, going as fast as my wings could take me.

Meh, not my best bit of story.

I think Tafari's expression is stupidly out of place, but nothing else that I tried worked.

I think I'm finally learning to get textures to do what I want them to do!!

Started on Friday, lined on Saturday, flats and rough shading and background done on Sunday, finished up today.

PS: Dom still has his eyes, those are just superficial scratches. Probably won't even scar.
