Phew. Been working on this for a while.

A short and incomplete tutorial of how colors work on a dog's coat to produce the markings and patterns we see, in simplified terms.

My dog has the Liver gene... hes a chocolate Cockerspaniel :D looks just beautiful with his darkish brown fur, the amber eye and the brown nose ^^

its very great!
theres just one thing i didnt understand, why does white erase off the other colors? well all i know/learned is that black(well truly seen darkbrown) is the strongest color gene, so i thought white was rather rezessive

Genetically, black is strong, yes, but as far as the way colors layer, white markings = no color. Hence white covers all other markings. White markings are pretty strong genetically, too.
