Finally! The last three big projects I've done in my 3D animation class are ready for DA
I was going to submit the first two -the walk cycle and the dude on the bench- but I figured it would be better to submit the three together.
Assignment 1: walk cycle. I found this to be funny, considering that the first animation I made using this rig was a sneak cycle, which is a little bit more advanced/difficult than a walk cycle.
Assignment 2: sitting down or getting up. This one was so much fun! Though I feel bad for the guy, clearly whoever he was waiting for was a no-show. If you can't see this one too well, here's a link to a 'larger' version [link]
Assignment 3: "mystery box". I was supposed to animate the character interacting with a box of any sort; most of my classmates chose to do presents or stuff inside of boxes. I chose a square watermelon. This one was very, very tricky and complicated, but ultimately it was tons of fun to make, too
Hope you guys enjoy! Any sort of feedback is welcome!
All animated in Maya 2013. Park bench downloaded from Turbosquid. Barely visible wristwatch, watermelon, sign, and table made by me.
Wow great work! The expressions and movements are excellent. Especially the surprised faces at the watermelon, totally priceless.
I guess my only advice would be to watch out for the sudden stops between movements! I don't know how maya works with animation, but if there are any sorts of f-curves, you could make for some in-between movement to make it so the actions aren't so separate from each other. It isn't very natural to completely stop moving between each motion. I hope you get what I mean by that haha it's hard to explain!
